Latest company news about Telstar Showcases Laboratory and R&D Freeze Dryers at Expoquimia 2026 in Barcelona

Date: June 15, 2026

Telstar, the Spain-headquartered pharmaceutical equipment engineering firm, presented its portfolio of laboratory and R&D freeze-drying solutions at Expoquimia 2026, held in Barcelona from June 1 to 5.

Under the guiding theme "It all starts in a lab," the company demonstrated its commitment to supporting pharmaceutical and biotech companies from early research through industrial production.

At Pavilion P2, Booth 94, Telstar featured its LyoQuest table-top laboratory freeze-dryer range for vials and ampoules.

With a compact design and plug-and-play setup, the LyoQuest series is positioned as an ideal first freeze-drying solution for small-scale research applications.

The series includes automatic, semi-automatic, and manual operating modes, allowing laboratory staff to fully control, study, and optimize process parameters.

Notably, the LyoQuest Arctic model uses natural refrigerants to support long-term compliance with upcoming European regulations on fluorinated refrigerants.

For customers bridging the gap between laboratory and production environments, Telstar also showcased the LyoBeta Mini freeze-dryer.

This table-top solution delivers industrial-scale capabilities with a shelf temperature range from -55°C to 70°C, making it suitable for formulation development, scale-up studies, small-batch production of high-value drugs, and individualized medication.

In addition to freeze-drying equipment, Telstar presented its Boreas Ultra-low Temperature Freezer range featuring upright and chest freezer options in various sizes.

The new touch-screen interface with connectivity features offers laboratory staff enhanced process transparency and control, helping safeguard valuable stored products such as reagents, cells, and samples.

The Boreas series achieves temperatures as low as -86°C using vacuum insulation panels and non-fluorinated natural refrigerants for future-proof compliance.

Roberto Buzzi, Global Sales Manager of Telstar's R&M Division, emphasized that every new drug begins with research in a laboratory, and the quality of these first steps has a direct impact on future production success.

Telstar's presence at Expoquimia reflects the sustained global demand for laboratory-scale lyophilization equipment that enables seamless scale-up to commercial production.

For international buyers, Telstar's approach underscores the importance of choosing freeze-dryer suppliers that offer integrated product lines spanning R&D, pilot, and production scales — ensuring consistent performance and regulatory compliance throughout the drug development lifecycle.
